In car years the Rolls-Royce Phantom is old as dirt. The car debuted in 2003, the drophead came out in 2007, and the coupe dropped in 2008. There have been numerous updates and special editions, but the only true refresh came in 2012 with the Series II, and even that was minimal.
No vehicle manufacturer will ever out-Rolls-Royce Rolls-Royce. Given that the company’s newest car is a bright red Wraith that makes 632 horsepower from its twin-turbo V12, it seems only the ultra-premium brand itself can do that.
Rolls-Royce may produce highly powerful cars, but it’s not going to embrace the boy racer craze any time soon, despite the big rear wing you see on the sedan here. However, it is eventually going to create a vehicle for luxury SUV buyers.
