2011 Continental flying spur over heating

Hello there, my car overheats a little when sitting at traffic then jumps right back to 90Celsius as you can see in the photo it is supposed to be at the yellow mark but reaches the red mark in the photo I labelled out, this has never happened before and I also have a brand new genuine water pump.

There are a couple of different fan circuits. It looks like the temp probe on normal circuit might be duff, allowing it to heat up to 105º. Once it reaches that, the high speed fan circuit kicks in and brings it back down. (So your car isn't really overheating, but there might be an issue with the fans.)

But there's really no way to know without taking measurements. Sreten (M539 Restorations) goes through a lot of this stuff (though I think the final outcome on his car is probably different from yours).
(there's more on the overheating issue in the next video in the series). In one of the two he shows how to monitor all the temps and fan speeds using VCDS.

Yeah I saw that vid but do you think it may be an issue other from the fans? because I am experiencing a very small leak coming from this hole.

It's only a guess, but the leak may explain your cloudy coolant: someone might have added a stop-leak treatment of some type because of the leak.

Have you had to top off the coolant because of the leak? You may have gotten air pockets in the system -- which *could* explain the temp fluctuations.

My coolant has no additives on it and the color is fine, its been 2 months since I did a flush and put the fresh coolant but the level went down a little only, more like 500ml-1L

Sorry; I mixed up two threads. Yes, your coolant looks fine.

If your loss of coolant did cause an air pocket, then it would take less coolant to fill it back up than you had lost (since the air bubble is taking up space somewhere). How likely that is, I haven't a clue.

@Sal-Man ,
Being that you say you have had the water pump replaced, it brings the question, did this issue start after the water pump replacement, or did you replace the water pump because of this issue ?

As to the leak, it appears that your radiator is leaking, and that should be taken care asap, as JeyJey said, any leak could be a source of air in the system, which also brings up if the system was properly bled when filling with new coolant.

As to the fans, be sure they are both running, as to your area, what is your °f, with the AC on, both fans should be running.

The coolant was filled properly using the vacuum method and I replaced the water pump 2 months ago because it was old and seizing and for 2 months and approx 2,000km the car didnt have any issues, last time I drove the car when it was fine, I did a 100-250kmh run a very short burst and mid to full throttle, its not like I abused it. I parked it 3 days then I drove it again and this happened, now its in the dealer.

The car has been in the dealer for 2 days and the technician even drove it for that time, he drove it over 80km and idled for around 10mins and did hard pulls, he told me he did multiple 0-100kmh pulls but the temp never went over 105celsius and the gauge never went over 90celsius so idk what happened and I fear that if I receive the car, the same issue will happen again.

Hello,

As to your question of coolant temperature fluctuations, may be the result of the high temperatures in your country. The heat and full on air-conditioning can elevate the operating temperature of your B. The vehicle is still in the appropriate operating range. Keep an eye on it and enjoy the ride....for now.

It sometimes goes more than this then jumps right back at 90c I am really confused because I did a full throttle pull from 0 to 120kmh/ 70mph and it stayed right at 90c/ 200f but sometimes while idling or even cruising it goes all the way to 110-115c

The 2011 uses only 1 fan instead of the older double fan shroud.
