The 996 is probably the most polarizing 911 Porsche ever made. It was the turning point of Porsche’s vision for the future of their company and with it came a lot of radical changes. Some folks felt that the 996 lost the original spirit of the Porsche’s of old. With it the air-cooled giants that the company had built its brand around for decades were lost. The iconic circular headlight design was tossed for a weird fried-egg shaped design that came off one of Porsche’s race cars from the era. The body seemed more streamlined, but at the same time lost some of its classic character.

Whether you loved it or hated it, these 996s were here to stay and believe it or not, they are one of the brand’s best selling models of all-time. While the aesthetics might be up for debate there is one thing that definitely plays a big part on whether you love your car’s look or not: the wheels.
