'The Legend of Enzo Ferrari' Brings Grunt & Class to the Petersen

The Petersen Automotive Museum will opened new exhibit to honor Enzo Ferrari and the incredible cars of his legacy.

Enzo Ferrari is known for his incredible racing talents (four Grand Prix wins from 1923 to 1924), his brilliance as an engineer for Alfa Romeo‘s Grand Prix team, and as the ultimate founder of Ferrari as a company. He left his mark for several Italian automakers, including Fiat. Throughout his long life, his contributions to the automotive, motorsports and engineering industries are too numerous to name. To honor his legacy and his life, the Petersen Automotive Museum of Southern California is erecting an exhibit this summer, called the “Maranello Masterpieces: The Legacy of Enzo Ferrari.”

On display will be 10 cars that he helped develop. Some of those cars include the 1947 Ferrari 125 S, the 1956 Berlineeta Competizione “Tour de France,” and the 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi. Also featured will be the 1957 Ferrari 500 TRC, 1961 Ferrari 400 Superamerica and the 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT Prototype. Naturally, the 1990 Ferrari F40 will be proudly on display alongside the 2017 Ferrari F12tdf. For fans of Ferrari as a brand or as a racing team, this is an exhibit you absolutely do not want to skip over.

And, of course, one of Ferrari’s most famous vehicles bearing Enzo‘s name will be there to drool over, too.  Hagerty, the main sponsor of the new exhibit, is sure to include photos, plaques with all the information enthusiasts could ask for, vehicles not previously mentioned and so much more. Starting June 18, the public can explore the incredible cars Hagerty brings to one of Los Angeles’ most prolific automotive museums.
