These Modified Porsches Ask If You Can Improve On Perfection
3. Porsche 930 Turbo by Koening Specials
The 80’s were an amazing time. Especially when it comes to visual restyling of cars. Koenig is one such maker of the era not afraid to alter the lines of a Porsche. Where as modern kits add a wide body or a bumper here and there, Koenig went wild. GT Spirit highlights this 930 as having 928 headlights mounted forward and lower than the standard fare.
Out back, Audi 200 taillights span the width of the car under the massive oversized whale tail. Clearly, Koenig was more concerned with fiberglass supply than wind tunnel time.
4. Kelly Moss VICCI Safari Porsche 911
Porsches are great in nice weather, but they get even better when conditions worsen. Safari conversions on 911’s are increasing in popularity, and this Kelly Moss Porsche 911 ranks as one of our favorites. Hoonigan notes that this one features an Eaton supercharger, KW suspension, and 964 Carrera 4 all-wheel-drive system. Raised, with exposed skeleton bumpers and widened fenders, this snow white safari 911 looks stunning, especially in the snow.
5. Strosek Widebody Porsche 928
And now for something completely different. Strosek of Germany had a thing for the Porsche 928, and this one features their Evolution III widebody kit. In one of their most extreme kits for the 928, Strosek added side strakes, NACA ducts everywhere, flares galore, spoilers aplenty and more. Bring-A-Trailer showcased this one, in a rather pleasant diamond blue metallic.
And while the styling might be a bit fussy to some, the execution looks to be well done. Plus, it is a fitting car for the time.
