Alfa Romeo’s pint sized bullet is coming to take the US by storm sometime next year. The body of the car is wonderful, and at a feather light 2000lbs, it’s certain to perform like a bat out of hell. But looks and speed aren’t everything. A sports car has to sound like a sports car too. Generally speaking, four-cylinder engines don’t sound particularly inspiring (especially when turbo-charged).
The Alfa’s exhaust sounds pretty good though. It’s not going to shock and awe pedestrians like the sound of a revved up v12 will, but it’s got an aggressive little growl to it. The engine is a puny thing at 1.75 liters. Still, they’ve got it making a healthy 240 horsepower. There’s not much weight to move around, so I imagine that it’s bite will live up to it’s bark with ease.
