Vivid Racing Bringing 911 Turbo S to Targa Newfoundland Rally

There’s a severe shortage of closed rallys in North America. Despite that, we do have one really cool one in the Targa Newfoundland. Performance part shop Vivid Racing has decided to enter the fray this year with their 991 Turbo S.

They’ve dropped in a bolt-in roll bar with harness and diagonal bars. Even though Targa Newfoundland is a tarmac rally, that doesn’t mean you can just traction control to “sport” and call it a day. These are real roads, not the glassy smooth asphalt of Oscherslaben or even the Nurburgring. Vivid is preparing the car accordingly.

A Softronic ecu flash, Agency power pipes and a BMC filter brings the power up to 615hp. Considering the stock car makes 530hp, that’s not a bad gain at all. They’ll be running Toyo T1s and R888 wrapped around 19″ Niche wheels. They’re even pulling out the stock suspension in exchange for some KW Variant 3 coil overs.

Vivid has participated in the renegade cross country rallies in the US before, but this the first time that they’re heading to closed course competition. We love racing and we can’t wait to see how they’ll do come September.
