Blood Sport: Rare 993 GT2 Club Sport For Sale

Oh my. This is the kind of car that people do crazy things to get. Who knew an orange Porsche could look so good?

Porsche introduced the world to the GT2 model with the 993 model year. Like all awesome things related to fast cars, it had it’s roots in racing. The winged, twin-turbo race car was built as a homogulation model so Porsche could go win at LeMans and the GT championship in the 90’s. They only built 57 of them and out of those only 20 club sports were built. Out of those, there was only one that was painted in blood orange. This, is that car.

Like the modern GT2s, it’s a rear drive only and fast. That’s 450hp in a 2800 lb car kinda fast. Unlike modern GT2s though, this is a full breed race car. Note the bolted on fender flares. The hood pins. The exposed rolled roll cage. The fire extinguisher beneath the passenger seat. Modern GT2s are faster, sure, but it’s like comparing an electric razor to a shard of glass: Both can shave your face, but one requires a little more bravery than the other.

The best news? It’s for sale. Of course, this is one of those ” if you have to ask, you can’t afford it deals.” Check out the listing here, if you’re interested.  Otherwise, browse the gallery and try not to drool on your keyboard.

Talk about this gorgeous 993 in the forums!
