Watch a 2000 Horsepower Gallardo Take a Bath In a Pond

Is there such thing as too much horsepower? The owner of this modified 2000 hp Lamborghini Gallardo might be thinking so after it ends up in a pond during a 1/2 mile drag strip run.

Luckily the driver, and the car, appear to be okay, but we’re sure the driver had a Code Brown moment at one point during the run.

Everything seems to be going okay off the line, but about half-way down the track is where things start to go wrong. The car begins to fishtail, and then spins out of control.

It slides off into the grass, and then comes to a stop in a shallow pond, spraying water everywhere. It’s definitely scary to watch.

Aside from the driver’s pride, we’re not sure how much damage was caused to the car. It did need taken away on a flatbed, which might be a sign of a disastrous outcome for the 2000 hp engine. Remember kids, high horsepower cars can be dangerous.

We recently learned 707 hp in a Challenger is hard to handle; so it stands to reason that 2000 hp would be even more difficult. Be safe out there!
