In the few pm's I had w/ Ben, he was always very happy to answer my questions and was on target w/ everything. I only knew him as a member here, but with the support and people here that have met him and were friends of his, I can see that not only as an online community, but as a an automotive enthuiast, we have lost a stand up guy.

Though I am very new to this board the tragic news of Ben's passing deeply affected me. His humor and genuine love of family, friends and his passion for cars permeates his postings. That he will be sorely missed by his many friends on the forum goes without saying.

More importantly, my thoughts are with his family, who must find a way to make sense of this tragedy. My deepest sympathies to his family. The following poem helped me make sense of the loss of my mother. Though it speaks of cancer, it captures the essence of understanding what death cannot take away

Cancer is so limited-

It can not cripple love
It can not shatter hope
It can not corrode faith
It can not destroy peace
It can not kill friendship
It can not suppress memories
It can not silence courage
It can not invade the soul
It can not steal eternal life
It can not conquer the spirit.
Our greatest enemy is not the disease, but despair.
Cancer may rob us of that blissful ignorance that once led us to believe that tomorrow stretched forever.
In exchange we are granted the vision to see each day, today, as a precious gift to be used wisely and richly.

I know I hugged my wife and kids today...I'm sure the rest of you did as well.

RIP Ben

Wow, I've read through this thread a couple of times now and it still seems surreal. My sympathies go out to the families of Ben and his passenger.

I have been mostly reading on this forum, for the last year or so. Reading Bens posts often brought a smile to my face with his humour. It is truly sad to see him got This thread shows how much everyone cared for him.

I got an instant chill down my back when I saw the title to this thread. One of those things you hope you never have to see on a forum. I instantly was at a loss for words and when my mother saw the pictures of Ben's daughter Parker in the CGT seat she immediatly teared up. The one amazing thing that this has showed me is how close everyone here is and how nice it must be for Ben's wife to know that if she ever needed anything, there is a huge amount of people that would stop at nothign to help her.

Rest In Peace Ben and Cory, Lost but never Forgotten

just got to thinking that I first got into these cars because growing up I was a huge fan of James Dean (another guy who lost his life on a Porsche).

Ben - I didn't know you personally but I've read tons of your posts...and you certainly were an awesome guy.

Rest in peace Ben and Corey.

I don't know what to say...

i've been reading this forum for about 8 months, on the fence about buying a 996tt... ben's posts were always well informed, whether in this forum or off-topic...

i didn't know the guy, i don't even own a porsche, spoke w/ him 1-2x over pm about real estate, but an event like this makes you question the point of it all... do we really need 500hp+ cars to race around?

even worse, i think about some of the things i've done on the street over the past 2 weeks, and i feel ashamed and stupid... i'm not married, but i would hate for my parents or friends to get that call...

RIP Ben & Cory... you can argue they died doing something they loved, but i feel even worse for their wives, kids, & parents...

Piece of info you all may find interesting...

I was just informed by one of my inside sources at Porsche that PCNA has posted on their website to dealers, that they should keep their mouths shut regarding this issue. This came about after a salesman made a post regarding Ben's death...
