Can accumulator cause clutch slip?
I fitted a new clutch when I got the car (996 Turbo) and at the same time had it mapped, pretty much went straight to the drag strip, the car smelt of clutch all day (this was a stock 996T Sachs clutch) after 5000 miles it was just slipping too much in 5th and 6th so a friend gave me his set up to fit, its a GT3 LWFW and sachs 890nm clutch, his car was running 650 hp + and it never slipped, it had covered 1500 miles, he has gone for far more power so the clutch was of no use to him. My question is can the accumulator cause the clutch to slip? Ive seen threads where guys alter the pushrod length (with GT2 conversion) might it be I need to shorten the rod a little? It seemed fine at first, very quick to rev and putting the PSM light on ion the first 3 gears which ive not seen before.
My friends car has the GT2 slave conversion, in fact you guys would love it if he came on and listed the mods etc, he has had it from new and has over £300K in it inc buying it, thats £ not $ !!!!

I don't think so. Slave and accumulator will release pressure off the clutch via hydraulic pressure. Unless something is holding the pressure back against the fork, there is no reason the salve or accumulator will apply pressure disengaging the clutch.
Basically the pressure plate is fully engaged and pressing on the clutch disc / flywheel at rest. Only when pushing the clutch pedal is pressure applied to the fork that disengages the clutch.

I think I found the problem, as I have moved to pretty much all GT3 LWFW and clutch I should of changed the input shaft guide tube as the 996T one is too short to sit in the release bearing and keep the clutch aligned properly, now removing trans again and new guide tube on order.
