build opinions

hey everyone, i'm looking to build / restore and older 911. i want to keep the build to the air-cooled models. i want to drop in a 993 varioram motor with a G50 transmission. is there anything special that needs to be done to drop in the varioram? are there other features that people have found that are must haves for a build, ie power steering? i want the car to be a daily driver for good weather, not going to do any track or racing. is there one model of the 911 that is better than another? any feedback would be greatly appreciated. i've been doing lots of research and love reading about other peoples projects.

You'd save a ton of trouble if you just bought a high mile 993 and restored it.
