My God I hope not. They can turn out all the hybrid concepts they want to, even do a hybrid car (give it a fun name even: the Porsche Plugster), and it won't bother me. Just really hope that they leave the 911 alone...

Why not? It will maybe affect the 911 sound... but otherwise will make it much more economic and environment friendly with the same awesome performance

The thing is that there is just no need for it. The 911 is already one of the lowest emissions rated sports cars out there. As for making it more economical, it wouldn't. It would raise the price a massive amount and the fuel savings would not be that impressive if the car had any improvement in performance. Besides, who buys a 911 looking for "economy" in any way?

Low emissions? How low? The new M5 produce 230 gr C02 and delivers 560 hp. Has any Porsche reach this?
I wouldn't mind if new model is equiped with the 400hp hybrid 3.0 lt engine from Cayenne
