Question 2012 or 2013 CARRERA S

ALL,
I am back with interest of buying another 911 S, but at this time, I would like to step up and get a newer 911.

I sold my 2006 S Convertible, I am really inclined in getting the newer model tail lights (the thin ones that runs to the sides) and also NOT CONVERTIBLE, as my convertible (beautiful) but made some strange body noises and the rear seats were angled and uncomfortable for my 10 years old.

YOUR INPUTS PLEASE:
What exact year the tail lights changed? (I noticed that some 2012 still have the old style tail lights and some don't...WHY?)

How about PDK versus MANUAL? (I personally love manual trans) but would like to know if there is any significant difference in terms of ANYTHING.

Thanks guys,
Appreciate your help in getting back into a 911.

991 was launched in 2012 (MY 2013)

PDK is a must.

Thanks... so PDK is that good?
I always liked MANUAL, but if PDK is worth it, then I will look into it.

I also noticed that there is 2012 997 and 2012 991 models out there, and the difference in looks is HUGE in my opinion. I will wait until I find the 991 that I can afford.

Cheers
