Something is wrong : The Wheels and the Rocker Panels , I rather prefer Old School stuff : 16 in. Fuchs and Original Rockers seems to me that is a 964 backdated to the 70s !

Weird, It has 7" fuchs all around. It needs some 8"s in the back. $50k tops.

Not sure it will meet the 36 starting bid. It doesn't look like there is all that much money in it, and it looks like they spent it on a repaint and limited cosmetic backdate. They left the stock SC dash, black instead of chrome window trim, etc. So you're basically looking at a partial recreation consiting of a nice carpet kit, seats, door panels, headliner, fenders and lights, bumpers and paint. Add that to the price of an SC with tired paint and you don't get to 36k.

As for mechanicals it's not clear, but it looks like a near stock motor, brakes, probably suspension and trans too. So the big ticket items were left alone. It's not a pre-smog VIN in CA, so that's a strike against it too.

It may end up getting reasonable money from someone who likes the looks, but I don't see value there at 36k, assuming there isn't more hiding under the skin.

Sure, happy to help if I can. I'm no pro, but I just sold my '73 RS look so I've got a little experience...

Well the BBS seems to be doing that annoying thing where it blocks uploading right now. I'll try and edit the message later to put up a couple pics, but you can see the car here:

Cosmetically it wasn't the greatest, but the mechanical specification was very high- 310+hp VRam, 2150 lbs, turbo brakes, JRZ shocks, etc. It was quick.

The red and white one that started the thread started was a '93 964? That's sounds about right. Did he do anything to the motor while he was at it?

I've seen that car a number of times now - unfortunately he's always been driving so I haven't got to talk. But it sure doesn't sound like a 964!

By far the prettiest clone I've ever seen.

That's a beauty of a replica. Those are Paul Stephen Wheels. I agree that they, and the exhaust, take away a little from the authenticity of the conversion but it more than makes up for it in drivability.
