How many miles on your 911

Hey all, I recently purchased a 2007 Carrera S. It's a car I plan to keep a very long time. I'm curious how many miles all of you have on your cars. Should I baby this thing and keep the milage low or take it to Vegas when I feel like it and just forgot about the miles?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

I agree, drive it, that's why you bought it. I have over 208K miles on my 87 Carrera.

I've got nearly 95k on my '84. I say drive it or sell it to someone that will. The good doctor didn't like to see them just 'sit'. They were definitely meant to be driven.

Later,
Mike

I track the car, which dosn't pile on the miles, but much more fun per mile!

The car should hold up to the mileage, the downside is mostly in the resale value. I have 145k miles on my '77, and it still has almost no rattles or squeaks. That's saying something for a car that is tracked! I had 100k miles on my '99 Boxster with very few problems, also. I've heard of plenty of SCs and Carreras that had over 300k miles.

As a side note, I had the shunned 2.7L engine in my car before the 3.6. While it leaked oil like a quart, it ran like a champ until I pulled it at about 130k miles. That's not terribly high mileage, all things considered, but I don't think high mileage is something to worry about with any well-maintained Porsche.

i sold my 82 sc a couple of years ago with 118k miles. when the new buyer took it for a PPI the car showed 1% leakdown per cylinder.this was my track toy. porsches are made to be driven.
