996 C2 Cab HELP!

Hi,
I have a 2000 C2 Cab and I'm having issues with the top. It seem to only go up and down when it feels like it. This is usually after the engine has been cool for a while and I start it up fresh. For example, if I'm driving with the top down and I reach my destination, decide to put the top up, the convertible dash light starts blinking, but nothing happens with the top. If I leave the car there for a while (i.e. a couple of hours) and try again after starting her up, the top has a better chance of coming up (6 out of 10 times). When the top does decide to cooperate, however, it goes through it's motions flawlessly.

My question is, what could this be? Could it be a fuse issue or the battery? It's really frustrating when it's about to rain and I can't get the top back up.
Please help!

I think you've posted this in the wrong section.

As a 996 Cab owner I can't say I've had this problem but I would check the hydraulic fluid levels first and post this on renntech second.

When the top is not working, verify that the handbrake light is on in the warning lamps. May be a sticking switch. If that is on and it still doesn't operate, open the engine lid and close it again, possibe faulty latch switch. The engine lid must be closed for top to operate. Those are the 2 most common causes when the top doesn't operate and the light is blinking.
