Pictures of my 86

I've had the car for about a month now. So far, so good. I did buy and install a new steering wheel. The stock one was really needing to be replaced.

Here are some pics (along with the other p-car)

Great car and the older cars really looked good in guards red.

Again, great looking car. My buddy who has a 79SC just sold his new Boxter S. He never drove the Boxter after buying the SC. You have to admit that you get alot more enjoyment out of these old cars. They just have so much charisma it cant not like them.

I've been very tempted to sell the Boxster. The Carrera is just a ton of fun. I do appreciate both the old and the new though. I enjoy the ease of driving the Boxster provides, but also enjoy the true sports car feeling the old one gives me. The biggest difference has got to be the shifting. It's like rowing a boat in the Carrera. My Boxster has a SSK and I love how that changed the shifting characteristics of that car.

Although keeping both gives me the best of both worlds. I have already set the Boxster up for autocross. My plan was to make the Carrera more of a street vehicle. My wife thinks I should switch that around. I guess I have all summer to decide what I really want to do. If I do decide to make the Carrera the autocross car, I can have it ready for next season. I've already started this year with the Boxster, so I might as well finish with that.

Man these cars are a ton of fun.

B-e-a-utiful! I LOVE red.

Is that really stock? Looks like it has suspension work done to it.

When I first picked it up, it appeared to be stock height (lack of knowledge on my part). After doing some research on where others are sitting for ride height, it does appear that it was lowered a little bit. That saved me some work.

At some point I want to overhaul the whole suspension. It will be dropped down a little more than it is now when I do that. I want to get the handling to be somewhat close to what my Boxster is.

Yeah I am really liking those pollished fuchs on the Guards Red. Not all colors look good with them done that way, like I think my white would not.

It looks great. Nothing any more classic than a GR Coupe. The polished Fuchs look great too. I have to agree - that would be a tough choice. I would have to side with your wife though - the Boxster would be a better daily driver. Not that I don't drive mine to work several days a week...

What type of speakers are those in the doors? It looks like you have components but did not have to make a seperate hole for the tweeters. Beautiful car!
