My first 911 Carrera

She came into my life 3 weeks ago and I have not been the same since. She is 23 years old, smokin' hot, and a true joy to play with. I love her dearly - here she is:

Glad she makes you happy...nice body I might add. How old are you? Just curious as to how long it took you to get your dream girl. If it was your dream car. Also, the car does look great..of course most 911 coupes do...but I am a believer that all pre 90 911's look best with Fuchs.

Welcome aboard.

84' 911

I like to say I reached my "mid-life" crisis a few years early - I'll be 30 in November. Like you, I can appreciate authenticity and originality - however she's a looker!

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to the 6......nice coupe, I'm partial to these cars...HA. I've owned my 87 since it's inception, first and probably last Porsche I'll ever own. I too am a die hard pre 90's Fuch's fan.....and polished is better than powder coat!! Try posting some bigger pics...so we can see more of her.

Fuch's - NOTED - anyboby got an extra set?

I've been thinking about my first project for her:
  • Mechanical? She already runs like a CHAMP! Reluctant to touch/change anything in fear of altering current performance
  • Interior? My wife likes modern conveniences (but must keep it original though)
  • Exterior? Get a set of Fuchs
  • Sound System? Nice Alpine head unit but HORRIBLE speakers - coupled with the B&B Headers and Exhaust notes - I need some seriously improvement in this area
Any thoughts? Or do I just need to drive her and bond first.

I would suggest you drive her for a few months and get a feel for what you might like to change, if anything. It sounds like she already has some mods with the B&B exhaust and headers, I assume. This change has opened up your exhaust with less backpressure; think about opening up your intake also. An inexpensive change is to dump the stock air box and install a K&N cone filter which has less resistance. Do you know anything else about the engine, any other changes or upgrades done by her previous owner????

With respect to the Fuchs, put out a thread on the 6 in this section and ask if anyone has a set of wheels for sale. I know you can buy them from Tire Enhancement, but that's an expensive way to go.

Denny

Along the same line as Fuchs....the only music you need in these cars is the windows down, and the exhaust turned up. My wife rarely rides in this car....I dont turn on the ac and I want the windows down.

You will get some good info for your car over at Rennlist and Pelican....this place is more for show.
