I just won this 1967 Porsche 912 for $7,300

The seller says they took out the original Porsche engine and replaced it with a 1600 VW engine. Is that considered an upgrade or does it take away from the collectors value?

 

Probably takes away from the value since it isn't the original engine, although you will probably have an easier time getting parts. I would use it as a driver rather than try to hold it for investment.

 

What's you plan going to be ? I would just get a tune up and run it as speed says but also keep an eye out for a donor engine.
