Lindsey Racing Exhaust

I am planning on buying the Lindsey Racing 3" exhaust. I was wondering if anyone has it on their car. if so, how does it sound. I don't want it if it sounds like a fart can. thanks for the input.

3" exhaust on an NA? There is absolutely no reason to do that. You will not be happy with the sound.

Explain.

Also, with a "Lindsey" exhaust, what parts are you talking about? I've seen "Lindsey" exhausts w/ Magnaflow mufflers, etc

Anyone have a site of soundclips?

thanks

I was looking on getting the header, cat, and magnaflow muffler. I can't find any other exhaust.

Because it will resonate like you wouldn't believe. The only mod I would do to an NA car is a cat back (keeping the same diameter pipe), and change the muffler to maybe a magnaflow.

There is a big difference between the exhaust gains and sounds with a turbo and an NA. The only NA car I have heard that has sounded good, was an S2 with a B&B catback.

I heard the B&B catback on a turbo and it sounded great.

agreed - turbos and NA cars sound totally different, so check into that before committing

also, unless strictly a track car, 3" is WAY too big for an NA engine - it's even too big for the 3 liter like in the 968 - you lose significant torque - we have dyno tested countless systems, and 2.5" is as big as we could go without torque loss

beware of claims like "adds 15hp" - doesn't happen on an NA, and gains in cat-back systems are all up top, and almost always with torque loss down low

turbos are a whole different world though when it comes to cat-back systems and what they do

Only on a race car

The shop that works on my NA 924s race car that runs in SCCA ITS is in the process of installing that same exhaust. I would save the money, only worth it on a race car where every little bit helps, especially in ITS! You will also need to run a 3" header or you will be mating 2" pipe to the 3" exhaust. Again not what you want.

my 944 is my DD. I just want an exhaust that is not too loud and adds some hp.

ok, so if you get a LR 3" exhaust on an NA car, it will sound very hondaish...ricey. However, the LR3" exhaust on an 944 turbo..with borla muffler and magnaflow tip sounds amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S--C5GwqAQ0 yes its my car and i love it

if I put the high flow cat, pre-muffler, and magnaflow muffler, I am hoping it won't sound to bad.
