Here's my situation:

I'm interested in buying this car. The seller says all it needds is a battery, but I'm not going to go buy some expensive european battery just to find out it has a bunch of problems.

That said, can I just use any old battery just to test drive it?

 

Yes, you can use another battery for the test drive. make sure the teminals are in the right location and it has a good charge. There is a very slight amount of slack in the harness for a standard size battery. Faceing the battery the positive is on the right towards the front, negitive on the left. Advance auto has one in the propper size usually about $110.00.
