There was an event down at Pinal Air Park last weekend which is a 1.2 mile road course in between Phoenix and Tuscon. I was instructing that day so I brought one of my friends and my girlfriend to ride along with me. This track is known for being really hard on tires and I am a driver that is known to be hard on tires so I figured I'd take it easy until the timed laps. Since I had not been on this course in 5 years my first session was more of me relearning the track than anything. My second session I had the track down and started to make a lot more speed. Well quarter way through the little kid inside me took over and it was 930 drift time. I know how to get these old 911's BIG TIME sideways (think yellowbird nurburgring video) and I just couldn't hold back! My almost NEW rear Kumho's really suffered but it was worth it. When we got back into the pits my girlfriend alerted me that my rear tires were still smoking! I'll let the pics speak for themselves.....

 

 

 

Looks like a blast. And tires are good for only one thing to be used up for the next set.

I hate to see that..a reminder that they are not easy cars to drive hard.
