Pall bearers needed
To carry the coffin for this 930 section....bad case of rigor mortis going on in here.....I guess there's little interest in the older air cooled stuff....
aww...i created the official 930 picture thread. it was smokin' for awhile! maybe the current 6speeders already posted their rides and we just haven't had any new 930 owners to post theirs. =( i hope to be one of them one day! =)

930's are Alive and Well
I have both a 996TT and an 89 930 Cab. I drive the 930 more than the 996TT. Boxster Girl- I thought Santa was going to bring you a cherry 930 for Christmas? So we 930 owners need to keep this site alive. I hope the posts keep coming as they are educational as well as entertaining.
Good to see there is life out there....and good to see another soul with a TT and a 930S. I have to admit though, that I am migrating more to the TT because of the easier clutch pressure and technological enhancements....although for the sunny days and those times where I miss my motorcycle, I put down the top and run the slant through its paces. It's great to have a representatvie from both the air cooled and water cooled species. I went to a DE day in the TT and enjoyed it thoroughly, although I know that driving the 930 has its own special flavor tail heavy behavior that's been the cause of more than one case of 360 degree circles in the track.

either that, or i didn't make the "nice" side of his list when he was checking it twice.
Chuck Jones, you are right, like today, sunny and nice, down comes the top on the red 930 Cab and I am in heaven. I agree the 930 is tail happy but you can use that to you advantage with some practice going around corners, but it takes perfect timing. I also agree the 996tt is sooooo much easier to drive thru corners, due to the massive torque and of course all wheel drive coupled with the Porsche Stability Management System. I also put in the Porsche M030 springs front and rear along with a 4wheel alignment and corner balance, which is what it is supposed to have but the US Standards require a certain headlight height. The M030's lower the car roughly 3/4 inch and it looks so much better and handles better; however, the price is more of a race car ride, which I like anyway, and a front splitter than drags in most every driveway unless you really angle the nose in. Oh well, take care.
Just to stir up the mud a little...I have an 87 911 Carrera that can outrun your basic 930...I took a few dollars to do that, but boy, what a surprise when I come up on a 930....which are fewer than Lambo's on the highway....especially where I live...Pipes...HA!!!
My 85 is a hotty too!
Pipes:
My 85 has blown off 930's up to 100mph (we ran out of road.) It has 3.4 barrels, ported, polished, Elgin cams, large throttle body, MAS airflow sensor, cat bypass, yada yada yada. It dynos at 270 rwhp, which is pretty good for a normally aspirited engine. The engine was built by Callas Rennsport (Tony Callas). It was a long process but rounds out my stable of Porsches. It is probably my favorite to drive.

Thanks Rgagliano..I get a smile on my face when I blow away a 930 or a Corvette. My 911 can do 55 in first (0-60 in a little over 4 seconds), 95 in second, 135 in third and I can't tell you what in 4th or 5th. A fun car to drive....it red lines at 7200 and never seems to run out of power...Pipes
