I have heard of many people converting 993 and later AWD cars to RWD, but have never heard of it being done to a 964, way too complicated. I would check over on Rennlist, this forum is dead.

I asked once for these and a guy explains me that you only have to change the rear diff, but my logic says that must be the gearbox and the rear diff.

you have to switch transmissions, and mess with electronics, pretty much 6-10k job pending if you do it yourself or a shop.

Are you still looking?

Regarding the tail heavy question you have. When you get rid of that dual mass flywheel you will lose 25 lbs and when you put on a secondary bypass pipe to eliminate the secondary muffler that is located in front of the passenger rear tire it will help even out the cars weight distribution along with getting rid of that extra weight. Plus you have the added benefit of a different sounding car and maybe a little more response
