Well you can buy a 964 RS and have it federalized or buy a 964 US Carrera Cup.

Me too. I'm thinking of building a clone and trying to decide between a 964 and 993.


Or a 73 2.8 RS clone....

Or just saying screw it and getting a new GT3.

I known quite a few people that have owned both 964 RS and a 993 RS, everyone I know likes the 964 better it's a simplier more connected car. They are also pretty easy to clone since they use standard bodywork. I've also have a 73 RSR clone which is a complete fricken rocket, fun fun car but pretty damn impracticle for anything other than going out and and scaring the s&*# out yourself. Also pretty expensive to build.

Thanks for the input. While 73 clones are expensive if nicely done they are cheaper than the real ones, and less emotionally painful to dent!

 

I own a 92 RS back home in the UK, Japan delivery car, and I wanted to bring her to the US but the costs and what they wanted to do to the car was a big F%$#* NO !

By the way the bonnet is alloy, the doors are lighter, the side glass is 3mm thinner, the car is seam welded and hence more rigid and stronger & a host of other things including the motor. Very special cars, bought mine 12 yrs ago and will be handed over to one of the kids once I'm turned into fertilizer.
