If you want a nice, aggressive sounding engine note the Turbo is not for you. You want high RPM and an exhaust system with nothing in there. The Turbo gives you lots of torque low down so you will rarely go into the high notes.
Many have discovered that with previous turbos and yes, it does take a bit of the fun away. In return you get even more blistering acceleration. Loose some, win some...
I am very interested in trying out the Turbo S and if I like it, I will be upgrading from my 991 C2S - however, it will have to be a lot better than a 997.2 Turbo as I certainly don't want my Porsche to sound like it is embarrased to raise its voice. The engine sound of the NA C2S with or without the PSE is great - I don't want to loose (much) of that, it's easily the best part of the car for me.
