history repeats itself

I've had a deposit in for over a year waiting for the 991 turbo - I'm really excited to be getting closer to placing an order.

Probably no one else will find the following coincidence all that interesting - but I think the comparison to my first sports car that I purchased in 1991 is very amusing:

1. The year 1991 has 991 in it.
2. The car had a 6 cylinder twin turbo.
3. The car had AWD.
4. The car had 4 wheel steering (the rear wheels turned about 2 degrees).
5. The car had a front spoiler that lowered at speed to increase down-force.
6. The car had a rear spoiler that tilted upwards at speed to increase down-force.
7. The manual transmission was built by a German company (Getrag).

There may be some more similarities to the current 991 Turbo, but I can't remember what they were.

Anyway - the car was a 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 which I eventually traded in for a 996 C4 cab.

Unless you're speaking of a different model of Mitsu and year, there were plenty of 4WS cars in the 1980's.
