Does anybody know if the 991 TTS PDK's 7th gear is strictly an overdrive gear just like the one fitted to the run on the mill 991 models whereby you cannot attain top speed with It. Also interesting to know if the Turbo's PDK shifts as fast as the GT3 version. Cheers mate & all of you out there have a nice day!

Top speed is achieved in 6'th

 

Thanks Tony007. Looks like the Turbo's gearing is very similar to the run on the mill 991's gearing. 7th gear is a pure Overdrive unlike the GT3 whereby you can hit top speed on 7th gear. Cheersmate!

 

Correct. As far as I know, the 991 GT3 is the only PDK that 7th is not an overdrive.

 

Still the GT3 with a shorter final drive ratio & more closely stacked gear ratios. It will not be as fast as the TurboS given in any gear scenario simply because of the colossal amount of torque the Turbo S has from 2,000+rpm onwards. IMHO, this makes the Turbo S a better choice than the GT3 as a road car.

sure coz the short gearing ... makes it a bad daily car for me but i still love it

 

The turbo is able to have the longer ratios as the carrera's with its torque output. It'll be great to see the shorter ratio and 7th gear top speed in the GT2 PDK
