991 Turbo at Dealer

Not doubting you at all. Lightly optioned S at $187K. I see it has the Sunroof in glass and I bet a Burmeister Stereo. That would take the total to about $187,585. That is what I would have ordered if I had wanted to keep costs down.

Yea, I understand, but it is easy to get out of control with options on these cars. I already talked myself out of a $173K Turbo and into the $199K Turbo S I have coming in a couple weeks. Add in clearbra, wheel/tire insurance, and sales tax and that's $215K out the door....Gawd almighty.

It's beautiful !!!
I just can't see myself buying one . As it is I spent the last 6 years with constant worry every time I parked my (approx) 200K (modified to the hilt) Turbo . How i managed not to get a painted panel in 6 years is due to barely driving it .
Add to this Miami has constuction on so many roads . Plus the one hot spot for awesome cars (South Beach) not only faces construction but it even has salt water on the roads with high tide flooding .
I must be getting old or maybe the "gottahaveit" capriciousness of youthful Porsche buying has led to the maturity of really considering more than just the fun drive with type of car purchase .
I can't deny that out of all the 991 cars the Turbo is the one that i feel offers the most appealing blend of modern day Porsche performance luxury ,styling, and technology.
I will just have to keep my current Turbo and live vicariously reading this forum while at the same time smiling for once that I hung on to my savings .

Looks awesome! Yeah fully optioned the price is pretty insane. Totally worth it but I couldn't personally justify it as go through cars quickly....so I opted for a 997.2 Turbo S for about half what a fully optioned 991 Turbo S would go for.

Also, in my line of work, it can be feast or famine, and I have the opportunity to buy for cash without any car payment now, so I figured I should go for it. With the economy, you never know what the future holds.

I test drove two 2011 turbos thinking the same thing, get a used 997, then buy a used 991. But I had to be honest with myself and know that I prefer to buy new cars, and if I bought a used 997 TTS, it would be sooner rather than later that I bought a 991 TTS, so I would have two depreciations to go through instead of just one.
