Active Aero Spoiler
Active Aero Spoiler
Hello to all members. New member and first post.
I am considering purchasing a Turbo S. My 2 peeves regarding the TTS are the ride height and the front active aero spoiler.
I am assuming that shortly after they get their hands on a TT/TTS that someone will introduce lowering springs. However, not so sure about the front active aero spoiler. In my opinion the active spoiler looks terrible. I would much prefer the Sport Design Front Lip spoiler. Do you think by removing the active aero front spoiler and installing a fixed spoiler it would cause the rear spoiler to malfunction ? Are they not controlled together by a switch on the center console ?

A quick consult with a Porsche mechanic familiar with the system should get you your answer. I am sure there are ways of making the ECU think there is still an air bladder attached to the front, even when there isn't.
If you do that, however, you may want to look at getting the front lift system they sell for the GT3 for just this purpose, as a front lip spoiler might make speed bumps and angled entrances hard to go over without scraping the heck out of the front spoiler.
I am picking up my TTS in a couple days, and I was right in front of one with the front/rear spoiler extended at my P Dealer this afternoon, and it looked pretty b@dass to me. With it tucked up out of the way, it has plenty of front clearance for a sportscar. I think I will even be able to clear the speed bumps at my son's school when I pick him up.
I am sure you could do it, with the awareness that you are messing with a completely engineered system that works in harmony front and back.

In fact if it weren't for those back seats everyone makes fun of, I might have gotten something else like an R8.
