Xenon vs LED nite vision wise?
Trying to get options together. The LED light option is a bit expensive, but can't find anything definitive if really better for nite vision to drivers. Most lit says just energy savings and cheaper to replace LEDs when burned out. Anyone been able to find out with vision wise at nite if LED excels even in a small amount in that aspect??
What is funny is that I am pretty sure that LED's are dramatically cheaper to produce and fit on the car then Xenons, but right now there is a huge premium for them.

True, but they have to recoup the R&D costs while people are willing to pay a premium, the next gen will probably have to make it standard to compete.
Yes, that is exactly it.
A big thumbs up for LED lighting in the 991. I have it in my car, and it is great.
LED headlights in general should use much less electricity to run than xenon or halogen headlights, and have a longer lifespan as well, if they operate the same way residential LED lighting works. These are the key points promoted by their industry, as well as not using any environmentally hazardous stuff in their manufacture vs compact fluorescent type lighting products. The stated lifespan of an LED bulb is about 50,000 hours.
One of my other money pit hobbies is I keep reef aquariums, and LEDs are getting to be mainstream in the hobby. The LED fixtures cost a lot initially, but their electrical running costs are much less than metal halides over time, 50-60% less in most cases, and they do not require a yearly bulb change out at $85 each time as well.
