Track day tyres
I run the Toyo Proxes R888 and I've been very happy with them. I consistently hang with GT3RS on slicks in the corners, though they get me by a little. I destroy the 997 Turbo S cars I've gone against with street tires. I've only run 4-5 track days (probably 10-12 hours) on the tires, but I'm pretty sold already on getting them again once these are down to threads. Price is great, traction is excellent (MILES beyond any street tires I've run), and they're DOT-legal so you can put them on and drive to the track (which is what I do) since you can't fit a full set of rims and tires inside a 911.
It's late and I'm tired, so you lost me with the "CL" acronym. WTH does that stand for? I traded my OEM GT3-style rims (almost new condition) for a set of OEM Turbo hollow spokes in excellent shape plus cash and that's what I use for my track rims. I was looking at rims & tires on ebay today for another reason, and you can pick up a similar set for $1,000 or not much more (no tires, figure another few hundred to $1,000 depending on tire type and mainly wear for a set of wheels with some already mounted).

Does anybody know if 19" rims clear the ceramic brake discs on the 991 turbo s?
