Well, i was hoping the overall noise level could be dropped, sound symposer only adjusts how much noise is transmitted into the cabin, so if the exhaust is loud all the time, the symposer wont help lower the noise (will only make it louder if you want to hear more). Whereas a valve in the exhaust (the same sort you get in some stock cars (like the 458 italia and the Chevy stingray) and aftermarket exhausts (like cargraphic), allow you to actually have the exhaust not generate much noise until you go WOT or if you press a button to keep it always on. It works by blocking one of the exhaust outlets i believe.

It's not a valved exhaust, not sure if Fabspeed has one planned. Were there any valved aftermarket exhausts for the 997 turbos?

Cant recall about the 997 exhausts, but Cargraphic's 991 TTS exhaust is valved.

Ah, gotcha. I wonder if that would explain the less hp/tq gains w/ cargraphics vs. the fabspeed.

My quick review after a couple days with the car:
Significantly louder, sounds like a monster now, snarling, popping backfires, etc. Turbos spool up faster, the car is noticeably quicker on the butt dyno (corroborates the real dyno plots). I can't wait to track this thing, in sport+ on normal streets it feels like a pit bull straining against a rapidly fraying leash.

I got the dual tips in flat black, looks great. Also mounted the P101s, so I'll be washing her up sometime this week and taking better pics.

I am thinking about installing the fabspeed system on my turbo s which I use as my daily driver. What is your impression of the noise level increase at highway speeds? Any drone? Is the system too much for a daily driver?

The system sounds great from the video clip. Congrats on a beautiful car (love the black quad exhaust tips)!!

It's my 80% daily driver and the noise increase isn't too much for me, of course that's subjective. I was easily holding a conversation w/ a passenger yesterday at city speeds w/ the radio on as well, for what that's worth. I wish I had done objective sound measurements pre and post inside and out, maybe the next customer can?

Your real world experience with the kit is very helpful. And i look forward to hearing more of it as you get to experience it more in different situations.

Could you remind me, what exhaust configuration do you have on your car now (full supersport exhaust system (incl cats), cat bypass, muffler bypass)? I may have missed it.

I have the full supersport w/ sport cats and headers.

Drove it on the highway today, no droning at all. It's loud on cold start, but settles in very smoothly after a minute or two of driving.

Thats promising. This spec is what I would be looking to fit onto my car.

No drone is definitely a big plus as the stock system has significant drone at cruising speeds. How would you compare it to stock? Is it much better?

Would be great if you could post a clip of the sound on acceleration and cruising from inside the car.

Droning is a very subjective term, to me it means an unpleasant resonating sound. The interior sound is similar in level to stock at cruising speeds, but not unpleasant to my ears. It snowed today so I won't be taking her out, but I will try and get some interior sound clips for you this week.

To me droning is the buzzing pressure-like sound in the cabin. If that describes it any better. The 991 seems to have more of it than my previous 997.1

Then I wouldn't go w/ the fabspeed, that background buzzing is a bit louder even at cruising speeds, though after a day or two I've adjusted to it completely. Not sure how the other exhausts compare.

Thanks for all the feedback on the exhaust system.

I had a chance to stop by Fabspeed's facility in person on Monday, it is very impressive. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I decided to order the full system for my Turbo S and it should be installed in the next 3-4 weeks. Can't wait to experience a great car with a proper exhaust sound.

I will post a review once it is completed.
