TechArt Techtronic installed on my 991 turbo S

Hi guys I installed the techArt powerkit techtronic ECU yesterday. Oh man!! In one word ...unbelievable!!
The acceleration is ferocious in all gears, got to 200 kms in a flash. It's so quick it loses traction when you jam it from stand still as boost comes on so strong. It works when you press the sport or sport plus buttons..so on regular mode you can tell how much slower the car is. I'm also able to hear the turbos scream a lot more in 1st and 2nd.
The shift from 1st to 2nd is shocking as the torque of 880nm comes on really hard pushing you hard into the seat. Will give you more driving impressions soon.
Got to love the feel of the torque surge hitting you.
😃

If i am to read this correctly, this is on 100 octane minimum? Does tech art have a 91 or 93 octane program and what are the hp/tq gains of that over a stock turbo s?

Yes 100 RON is 91.5 MON in the US. So you guys should be fine.

The new standard Porsche 911 Turbo S delivers 412 kW / 560 hp / 700 Nm (750 Nm with overboost in Sport- and Sport Plus mode). TECHART Automobildesign increases this performance by 44 kW / 60 hp and 130 Nm.

The TECHART Power Kit TA 091/T1.1 is based on the intelligent TECHART engine management system TECHTRONIC. By pushing the Sport- or Sport Plus button at center console the additional control unit provides extra power on request.
With operating TECHART Power Kit TA 091/T1.1 the four-wheel drive coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 2.8s (with Sport Plus). The top speed increases by 10 to 328 kph.

456 kW / 620 hp at 6,000 1/min
830 Nm at 2,500 – 5,000 1/min (without overboost in Sport- and Sport Plus mode)
880 Nm at 2,800 – 4,200 1/min (with overboost in Sport- and Sport Plus mode)

The TECHART engine management system TECHTRONIC is characterized by the following product features:
• significant increase of performance and driving dynamics
• activation by pushing the Sport button at the center console
• quick and easy installation, trouble-free deinstallation at any time
• intelligent electronic power management
• highest material quality and fulfillment of OEM specifications
• does not affect vehicle diagnostics or servicing
• does not affect electronic engine protection features

Like every factory-new TECHART product, the high quality standards of the TECHART Power Kits are backed by a two-year limited warranty. But more than that, TECHART grants an additional warranty on damages at engine or gearbox according to the TECHART TECHTRONIC Warranty Terms.

can u equate the above #'s to HP and TQ not kW and Nm please. Also in the past how has TECHART's power kits compared to say GIAC? Can the factory detect the flash? I heard Porsche USA has been cracking down on flashes and such..
i also assume "power kit" is only a flash? No aftermarket exhaust or anything other than a flash? I would have to send my ecu overnight to get flashed as with the GIAC?

All, the TechArt ECU Upgrade is available now for purchase. You guys are correct it is a plug and play unit and we should be receiving them in the next 2 weeks.

The octane rating is minimum 100 RON - which equates to about 93-94 octane. I have put a request to see if we have a 98RON file which would work for us wonderful west coasters 91 octane.

Contact us for more information!

This is a piggyback tuner, not a true DME flash, so past is irrelevant. That said, we've always consistently made more power than they have.

We haven't seen Porsche cracking down at all, but it's possible that other tuners have?

Yes, when the flash upgrade is released, it will need to be programmed here at GIAC at the time of release.

A gentlemen who attended our local SoCal half mile airstrip events had the TechArt tune on his 991 TTS. He didn't do very well (trapping in the 140's) and then a TechArt rep joined him at the NFZ Bakersfield event to do some troubleshooting.

Never found out if there was an issue or not but I recall they were saying something about the performance was hindered from the owner running 91 octane at the first event and it needed a mix of 100 to run optimally.

Not surprised. Piggybacks are inferior to flash tunes (that is, GIAC and Cobb)

Oh ok... I thought the COBB AP was a plug-in tune too that can be taken off just like a piggyback ? But doesn't it increase the redline limit too? That no doubt Porsche technicians could see on a diagnostic check? I understand the techart kit is undetectable on the Ecu/ diagnostics?
