I’ve got one of these on the windshield down low by the A pillar on all my cars, and just run the an interior color matching usb cable through the dash/steering wheel trim. Keeps phone in line of sight to monitor waze, switching tracks on Spotify, etc., all without having to take your eyes off the road. Practically no impact on outward visibility. Even with a CarPlay head unit, I’m still 50/50 on whether I just prefer the phone mount. Each his own of course. Agree never mount one of these on a leather dash.
