Launch Control Question

Sorry guys but I'd appriciate some clarification. I have not used the LC function yet, but when I place the car in sport plus, transmission in auto mode, depress the brake, and apply throttle, the car feels like its torque braking. In my Ferrari and BMW's, when using LC the car feels like it's in neutral when you depress the throttle. An indicator come on in the dash saying LC. Then, after flooring the throttle, you just release the brake and go.

I'm also not getting an LC indication on the steering wheel when setting it up. What am I missing?

Make sure you really "punch" the accelerator down. So at a complete stop, put car in sport plus, shifter in normal/auto mode, left foot fully depress brake, right foot punch down on accelerator all the way down to the floor, launch control activated should illuminate now/rpms spool up, then let off brake, keep foot floored on gas & smile!

As long as you have it in Sport Plus, doesn't matter whether you are in auto or manual. It should engage. Always has for me.

I think the OP managed to get it to work.

The car launches in auto mode. That's how I launch the car as their is no way I could up shift as fast as the computer. I would just slow down the 0 to 60, or whatever speed you're taking the car up to after launch.

Yeah agree - you can have it in Auto Mode and do launch control. Arnie, as I mentioned yesterday when you were here, be sure to floor it completely, and you should be golden - Especially with that new GIAC Tune

Does the launch control have any type of traction control kick-in if excessive spin is detected?

Yes the car still has traction control on unless you manually select it off.

Thanks for this! Not clear in the manual and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.

I have found that I get plenty of wheel spin and no traction control bogging even if you leave the traction control on. Seems to me that it is either very limited or effectively disengaged.

First time I tried LC I was disappointed because I didn't mash the throttle, it just sort of did a lame spin and that was it. Second time I mashed the throttle and was catapulted with little to no spin what so ever. Not sure how my g-force #'s stand up but it was almost scary, (in a good way) just because I didn't expect it to pull so hard.
