991 turbo S chasing a bike at the canyon
This car is a 996 Turbo not a 991 Turbo. Take a closer look at the video. Their are not white running lights not he front of the car. The car has the standard 996 Turbo hips not the wide ones on the 991 Turbo. Still a good video. It actually looks like the Angles Crest Highway in southern California. If you know the aroad most sport bike can kill a car in the turns.
The 997 doesn't understeer much more than a 991. In such a street situation, the driver would make all the difference. Just check out a Top Gear episode. The Stig in a Cayman beat a host diving a Pagani Hyura (sp?) around Monza. The difference between a 997 and a 991 is like splitting hairs.
i think the 991 is about 10 sec faster than the 997 at the ring right?
i do agree with you bout the driver can make the difference. i've driven both cars many many times before

Can't really tell anything from the video. The bike is creaming the car so bad it could be anything! I'm sure it is a 991; the headlights are on and the DRL's are off.

Don't get what was so impressive. The bike smoked the turbo every time he twisted the throttle. The only time he caught up was when the guy was loafing along. Would have expected something a bit more interesting. Any 911 turbo would have delivered at least comparable performance here. Bikes often get to the comfortable lean limit on the street before a sports car will start to slide. I was expecting something much closer.
My thoughts exactly.
