Base options a 991 Turbo SHOULD have...
I certainly enjoy this forum because I see what others are thinking when they select the right option combination to personalize their cars. With Porsche, the performance component is just as highly regarded if not more than the aesthetics. It is great to see both performance and aesthetic options abound.
Ever since owning my 993 Turbo I have appreciated the significance of the Turbo in the 911 lineup. The Turbo represents the pinnacle of luxury and performance more so now than ever especially since the GT line-up offers the most in trumped-up track performance for the 911 enthusiast. That said, why am I forced to select Sport Chrono, PDCC and LED headlights for a Turbo?
IMHO these three options should come standard on all Turbos. I could make a strong argument for including the Burmester sound system as well but I won't because it is simply a (fantastic!) radio option.
Now I haven't said Porsche should/shouldn't charge more because these pricing decisions really equate to a profit margin that Porsche could bake in as it does anyway. The biggest concern for not having these options as standard on the Turbo relates to value in the secondary market once these cars have depreciated a tad. Who wants a Turbo without Sport Chrono since it tames engine vibration while improving the performance tune? Is PDCC the ultimate for your suspension tune in the ultimate 911? Are LED lights the next wave in automobile technology? Porsche (better yet, the consumer) should really be concerned with depreciation as this is often the largest cost of ownership. I cannot think a 991 Turbo without these three options will hold its value as well as one with. Any thoughts?

I think it is to push owners towards getting a TTS
once you have purchased PDCC, Sport chromo, LED lights and ceramic brakes, suddenly the option to upgrade to TTS seems a more logical choice as these options are standard and overall depreciation will be slightly improved on a highly spec'd TT vs a standard TTS
