My maintenance has been under $1000 per year. I'm in my 4th year. Never had a machanical problem. Not one!

I have had a 09' Scuderia for about 9 months now. Love love love it! But lately finding that I am not using it that much. Driving it to the gym or just taking it for a drive by myself is all. Canyon carving with my group of car guys has only happened once this year. Track days is very hard to coordinate with my time. Have a new business and two little boys, so very busy on weekends with their soccer and such. I am strongly considering trading it for a 991TTS.
Being able to take the kids and wife out on a regular basis. Not being noticed everywhere, and the electronic amenities will be nice. But will quickly get boring I fear vs the Scud.
Another reason the Scud doesn't get used as much is how brutal and uncomfortable it is. I always have to consider, where will I park it, who might see me in it, and will it be to uncomfortable for my passenger.

I have an S6 that is modified with GIAC tune and AWE exhaust. It is a complete monster and will keep up with a 458 or Scud.

I have also considered doing a manual R8V10, MP4 or 458.
I am all over the place on this and not sure what to do.

I had been pondering a Scud for a weekend fun car as well but I was afraid I'd end up in the same situation as you and not using it nearly as much as I plan.

I have an S6, albeit stock, and the car is great with the exception of the horrendous tranny logic. Great daily, but honestly I drive it as little as possible as I have way more fun daily driving the 991TT.

I had an R8V10 manual and it was a phenomenal car, and way more comfortable and easy to drive than the Scud, but will get as much if not more attention, which I honestly did not expect (though mine was sepang blue which added to it). MP4 may be slightly less attention depending on color, 458 would be more. Are you looking for a daily to replace the Scud or a weekend car?

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will be buying one additional (special) car in the next 24 months, it is now on my short list.

Just looking for a weekend type of joy ride. I have the S6 for real practicality DD and that is why I am really hesitating the TTS. Need more of an exotic to take the place of the Scud. Currently negotiating a deal on a 2015 458, brand new not registered just arrived.
But need to drive it and a R8 before deciding. Tell me more about your thoughts on the two.
If the Scud was being used more appropriately, I would not consider replacing it. Can't imagine anything providing the thrill level that it does.

As I have never owned an F-car I can't speak to the 458, but my main hesitation in buying one in the future is the unwanted attention, even for a weekend cruiser. I got enough of that w/ the Sepang Blue R8, let alone a 458. What color is the one you're looking at getting? Are the Speciales all accounted for? If I were you I'd definitely test drive a 12C/650S before you decide.

As far as the R8, I have very fond memories of that car, my only real quibble was the weight...it's quite a bit heavier than a 458 or 12C, at least 300 lbs. I will definitely consider the next gen if they drop some weight. Right now I'm pretty satisfied w/ the 991TT w/ GIAC/Fabspeed running the 100 octane program for the past week...in sport+ it's sick fast, feels as fast as my 997 GT2 w/ GIAC/GMG actually.

This must be an issue based on where you live. In So Cal, I hardley get a look. I'm actually surprised more people don't pay attention when I pull up in my 458. I guess we have plenty of fancy cars all year round.

Yep, definitely based on geography. P-cars are common, but a mid engine exotic sighting is rare around the south chicago burbs.

Very nice topic.
How come nobody brings up a Ford GT as an option when talking about 458, MC-12, Lambos and such ?
Isn't it one of the prettiest and easier to maintain supercar ?
Almost no depreciation and it doesn't get old...

meanwhile... i found a 2011 FF 10k km asking for slightly higher price than a new Targa 4S.. i am not considering turbo anymore as i just love targa much more...

i think the FF is quite a good deal... except a concern 2011 has not got the fire issue fixed yet... although seeing a lot of u guys saying F car is perfect... i couldnt take such risk when i ll take my kids in this car...

either car... i plan to use as dd..

Wouldn't do the FF...It's quick but you're gonna take a huge hit on resale. Not a big fan of the looks either I was considering trading in my 612+ change but decided against it after testing it out.

I'd love to have an FGT, but I'd have to be wealthier and able to afford having it as a 4th or 5th car because it's one of those beasts you only take out for special occasions given the value.

After a week of test driving a lot and going back and forth of what to do. I narrowed it down to 3 R8's. 2 coupes (1 sepang blue metallic matte with manual and the other suzuka grey with S tronic) and one Suzuka grey manual spider. I decided on the coupe manual sepand blue. I like the S tronic a tad more and my wife said no get the manual, and we all LOVED the sepang blue. So this is what I am getting.......
http://www.mckennaaudi.com/used/Audi...43c87cccaa.htm

I test drove the brand new 458 and felt it would not be a good replacement to the Scud for what I want in a car. Maybe one day, but most likely I will end up getting a 458 Speciale in a year or two
Did not want to bring the 650S in the equation yet as they are asking 300k+ and I do not trust the depreciation on these yet. The MP4 I test drove before buying my Scud was lacking in so many areas, on the same note, I liked it a lot. If there were some good deals on a nice colored coupe 2013, I would consider it.

Some days I get way too much attention and others I seem to not be noticed. When I let someone drive and sit passenger I notice a lot of attention, when I am driving the car commands my attention and I don't really notice others unless we are at a traffic light. There are many exotics around S.cal.

I think the FGT is very cool, just not personally my taste. Also it has appreciated so much that it is a sellers market, and only a buyers market for those who can toss around 350k for ****s and giggles in the hopes it will still go up years from now.
