More HP for the 991.2/992 TT/TTS?
Interesting news, what do you guys think? Will Porsche have to add HP to the updated TT/TTS? If so, when will this car arrive for sale in the USA?

2015 991 TT's started shipping to US in late June, which is when mine shipped, with no change from 2014 except for a few interior choice changes and packages. Maybe there will be a 991.2 Turbo release with tweeked PDK, ECU and redesigned rear fascia and front led directional lights for MY 2015.5 or 2016. If there is to be a 2015.5 version I would think it would be announced by early next year. My guess is that the next change to the 991 will be the hybridized 700 hp 992 for the 2017 or 2018 model years--at a much higher base price. Another 40 hp for the TTS in a 991.2 would be nice and could be programmed by Porsche without much, if any mechanical change to the 991 for MY 2015.5 or 2016. Unless you want to drag race, not sure why the additional 40 hp makes much difference on normal tracks or street. I humbly suggest that you master the output of the current 991 TTS then decide if you really need the extra 40 hp.
Seems like everyone is just re-reporting the same article from CAR. To me, a little too radical, especially for a company like porsche.
They are going through some growing pains, so maybe its possible that they need to do something rapid like this to accommodate fleet emission standards?

^ unfortunately I think this will pan out to be true. Especially because you have a lot of outlets reporting on this. I guess time will tell....
Way to kill the exclusivity of the coveted turbo models
At least the GT3 will stay how it should be!

What do those who dismiss hybridization of the 911 or other Porsche models expect? Dismissing others' ideas on the subject is fine, but should be accompanied by plausible rationale. The forum is a place for exchanging ideas. I did not see the CARS report and gauged my expectation on Motor Trend and AutoWeek reports, which over many years have proven to be reasonable guidance. It may be easy to be cynical about auto journalists for some, but I have found their work most helpful. One recent example is the turbo charging of the Audi D4 A8 4.0 and mid-model restyle a couple of years before it was official. Such projections were met with derision by those who dismissed turbo charging due to their expectation of turbo lag, which now seems hopelessly naive.
In the meantime, I am enjoying my '15 991 Turbo S immensely (whatever turbo lag there is is perfect and entirely predictable and enjoyable for me) and obviously realize that at some point Porsche will introduce a more capable replacement. As a long-time 911 owner and admirer I embrace the technological advances for the 911 and would be disappointed if the company held on to aged technology. It is equally obvious that there are many who revere the older 911's. Just look at their valuation. Price appreciation is dramatic for the recent RS's in just a few years, for example. What other car companies offer that?
The Cayenne, Panamera and now the Macan and the 918 might be considered radical, but to me are just a logical extension of the brand's ability to deliver driving capability happiness in very different packages.

I don't think this numbers are correct. All of these sources are citing the same source from Car in the UK. It IS likely that they will all move to FI except perhaps the GT3 since this is exactly what the Panamera and Cayenne lines just completed. There the HP numbers went up a little for the base and S models but the torque was greatly increased. Thus, a good guess is that the base gets to 360 HP and the S 420 HP (450 with X51). This still allows the Turbo (and Turbo S) to be significantly higher for both HP and tq.
