GIAC 2 and GMG Exhaust

GIAC Phase 2 tune + GMG Exhaust + BMC air filter = YAHOOOOOOO!

Alan and the team at GMG handed me a missile last night for my ride home. They stayed late to complete my upgrades from Phase 1 to 2 and to replace my stock exhaust with his street exhaust. Great group to work with!

Based on my WOTs last night on the way home, the car is hitting crazy speeds very quickly. it was fast before, but not like it is now. I'll report back as I get more seat time over the weekend.

congratulations.. I am thinking of going similar route too but wanted to rack up more mileage on the car before I do that. aAt WoT, how many bar of boost are you holding ?

Please do share more feedback after more seat time.

That is exactly the combo that I am going with. All I need now is the car! Comments on the sound of the GMG? The videos they posted are pretty bad quality.

I've heard mixed opinions on the IPD ranging from 'great' to a 'waste of money'. Are there any dyno graphs that show the benefits?

None that I've seen. Not even on the IPD website.

I understand. As an engineer, I would still prefer some actual quantitative data. Especially from the manufacturer. Dollar/pants ratio doesn't help me make thousand dollar decisions.

The owner of IPD just got a new TTS and from what he told me he plans on running Dyno test on it before and after install of his plenum and new Y pipe. Waiting to see results.

Has any one done the GIAC Stage 2 on a Turbo S? Impressions?

unless you're going to street race, feeling faster could be better than being faster… this coming from another engineer (me). Whatever adds to the experience

I don't plan to street race. I do plan to spend my money on mods that ACTUALLY make the car faster. My checkbook will stay in the drawer until I see real numbers. I mean really, what manufacturer has the gall to develop a performance product and then have zero data about the performance of said (performance) product. That alone is total BS.

When I ordered the plenum the owner verbally told me it should pull gains of roughly 35 hp, I installed it with an exhaust at the same time and the car definitely felt better. The most noticeable difference is of course from the Stage II software though which definitely transforms the car.

GMG exhaust system is being installed on my TTS Thursday.

I am also having clear brake lights, clear third brake light, and clear front marker lens.

I'm expecting a gain of about 10 HP rom the clear lenses alone, hehehe!
