Getting ready for Atco

After my trip to Englishtown earlier this month, it is clear that launch control won't work in 40 degree weather because the tires just don't get hot enough, and winter tires have too small a contact patch and too much squirm to perform a brutal launch.

So I decided that I am putting my pirellis back on for Atco. Since I haven't been able to figure out how to do a burnout in these cars, i am going to heat the rear tires using Chicken Hawk Racing tire warmers. I also bought a 2k watt Honda gas-powered inverter to power them, along with an extra floor jack to raise the car while the warmers do their thing.

My hope is to combine great traction with great launches and great air for some great runs. More to come.

A Honda EU2000. The jack is an Arcan ALJ2T. Aluminum. I have a low profile 2.5 ton aluminum Kobalt jack from Lowe's. It is a tight fit, so I bought two one inch thick wooden round boards at Lowe's. Just drive up on them and I give myself an extra inch of clearance.

The rental is 12/12
