Help - Which car to buy?
If you are looking for a fun to drive sedan with enough room for the kids and crazy power and acceleration consider the AMGS E63 S sedan. It has the same engine as the S 63 but is considerably smaller. Put a Renntech full tune on it and you will have yourself a sedan with 701 Bhp and 839 lbs-ft that will do the quarter mile in about 11 seconds flat and 0 to 60 in just under 2.9 seconds. And it is all wheel drive so it puts all the power down. As modded it will beat a 12C or 458 in a straight line and go about even with a 991 Turbo S.
I need room in one of my cars but love power so my 991 Turbo S's big brother is....a 2015 E63 S. I added Renntech's catted downpipes and sport mufflers to mine so crank output is 726 Bhp and 875 lbs ft of torque. The ultimate sleeper.
I thought about the S63 but don't like the driving dynamics of huge sedans.
The S63 has an awesome engine and an incredible interior. But it is huge and that cuts into the fun to drive factor.

I agree, but nonetheless no more sedans for me. These are all good suggestions and I am leaning towards the GT3/2014 911 TTS or AM Vantage V8 GT, I just wish the p car came in manual and itd be a no brainer for me. Of course I realize the car is by miles faster with PDK, but I dont have the driving skill required to reach its potential anyways.

You could look into the AMG GT mercedes. But again that isn't a family car. I'd strongly recommend the panny turbo or s63 coupe.

991 TT or TTS is far better suited for DD duty. You could also look at an M6 Grand Coupe. Note that the rear seats will fit kids fine but adults are tight. But they are far roomier than those in the 991.
S63 coupe is gorgeous but too big for my taste.
The 991 Turbo is the only car on your list that is both exciting to drive and reasonably practical.
It's back seats are useable for kids or everyday storage for groceries, coasts, packages etc, and it has AWD for all weather driving.
It's also surprisingly quiet and comfortable as a daily driver.
The 991 is also a brand new design for 2014 unlike the aging R8.
If the price is a bit high, wait six months and look for a lightly used one which should easily fall under $150k out the door even if CPO'd.

991 TT is well suited for DD use even in and around NYC (I commute every day from the south shore of L.I. to Manhattan). Your kids are young enough to comfortably sit in the back of the TT. The PDK is sublime; however, it's not a MT and if you really will miss rowing your own gears and having a clutch pedal, you may find yourself a bit bored.
I have a manual 6 speed in my Boxster Spyder.
I have PDK in my 09 C2S which is my daily driver.
In city traffic PDK is easily the right choice.
On the open road either depending on conditions.
At the track I prefer manual for fun, PDK for best lap times.
2015 Turbo on the way!

I just traded a 2014 TT with about 6400 miles on it for a 2015 TTS and that 2014 had no rattles at all. It a very well put together car with excellent fit and finish.
Yes, I've heard some rattles. I think it's inevitable given the famously crappy roads we drive on.
After 5600 miles on my '15 TTS no rattles or any other problems. The build quality and dealer delivery were flawless. Bulletproof so far.
Mine has none so far; but many have not been so lucky with the 991s since they came out (Carrera, 4, Turbo included)
