Just a follow up. I checked with my GIAC dealer and I do have the latest one, so no need for a reflash for me.

Not sure I agree. I bought a Stage 2 and can flash between Stage 2 and Stock whenever I want, but If I want Valet mode or Race fuel programs, it costs for each one, at least through my GIAC Dealer.

This is precisely why I waited for COBB to release their tuning solution. Not only will I be able to switch between CUSTOM maps whenever I want, but I will be able to reflash to stock or whatever tune I want at any time--especially nice if I need to return the car to stock or put the tune back after a dealer campaign flash.

You can already do that with GIAC's flash loader. The other poster is just saying that to add the Race map and valet map, it's an extra cost option on the flash loader. Remember GIAC was the first company to flash the 991 Turbo, and they already went through many iterations of their software tuning in the past 12-18 months through real-world testing and customer feedbacks.

you can switch files, but you cannot reflash you own ecu nor can you load custom tunes unless they changed recently

What I'm saying is when you purchase a GIAC tune you can take it back to your dealer and have them flash between stage 1 and stage 2 if you want for no extra charge.

You don't have to buy stage 2 separately if you already have stage 1 and vice versa.

understood that, but Im saying that with the new COBB you will never have to visit a dealer again to reflash/update/restore etc. AND you can now have custom flashes as well as logging

The answer to this question is: no. There would be no charge from GIAC for this reflash. However, individual dealers do sometimes charge for the labor time to install the flashes, 1/2 hour, 1 hour..whatever it takes. That is something that is entirely up to the individual GIAC dealer, but it there is no charge from GIAC.
