I have an F12 and yesterday my '15TTS cab arrived at the dealership so will have both. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...b-finally.html First Porsche new in 1979. First Ferrari 2 years ago. I'm a "hotshot" at my Porsche dealer but a "next to nobody" at the Ferrari Dealer. I am talking to the Ferrari dealer about ordering the F12 replacement that will be out in about 3 years. My Ferrari dealer flat out told me there is not a fixed waiting list. I could be the 4th on the list and if people that have been customers longer or bought more F-cars than me call, they will go in front of me. It takes a long time & a lot of F-cars to work your way up the pecking order. The only way to get one early is to pay way over msrp to somebody flipping theirs. I purchased my F12 2 weeks ago. It is a 2013 and paid about 30,000.00 under the original msrp but for the first year & a half or so they were all over msrp.

I just sold my 458 and will hopefully have my 488 early next year. They are 2 totally different cars. Love my TTS and loved my 458 more. Great to be in a position to enjoy these great machines. I will own both at the same time and enjoy them for totally different reasons.

Just checked on this one and in I was told there will be no markup on MRSP as a first time buyer.

However, as a previous Ferrari owner, I could have benefited from an earlier allocation if someone cancels their order.

Depends on the market. This guy was in Plano and said they are allocated 86 cars per year, all models. That means only a few 488's. He said he has seen cars in demand go for 100k over msrp. That being said, if you are a current owner with a new enough car then you might get msrp on allocation but not if you want it this year. He had a new Californa T and it was asking over MSRP. That market will pay it. That is currently out of my league. I was just shopping used California's. Now if oil would get back to $90/bbl and stay there a while, I might be looking at something like what Imcarnuts bought because there is a good supply of those right now.

My experience:
08' 997 GT2 for almost 3 years. Slightly modded and it was perfection, otherwise I dont keep cars that long. In comparison driving my friends 997.2TTS, the TTS was boring and so insulated from the driving feel. After a while I just wanted to try something new so......
Got a 09' Scud. It was pure lust and the most raw and thrilling driving experience. It was like dating a **** star/stripper that could do nothing but screw and suck better than anyone else. No cooking, cleaning, talking or anything else but sex. Great and amazing in the beginning, but after a while you want something more. Well I wish I could afford to keep and add something more.
So the Scud was all that but became unusable for me as it was hard to find times that were appropriate to drive it. Sometimes to the gym and when I had free time and the very rare occasion that some other car guys could do a fun drive in the mountains. After a year, I felt I wanted something that could be more of a compromise.
Tried the 991TTS on three different long test drives from three different dealers. I wanted to love it, but again it was so insulated and unspecial for the driving feel. I preferred the less attention from it and the usability, but the performance was there on paper but not on tactical FEEL.
So by mistake got an 14' R8 V10 manual, put it up for sale after 30 days.
Now I have a 14' 12C. It is perfect for what I want. Comfortable enough to take on long trips, take the wife out to dinner and even run errands in. Also will smoke my GT2 and Scud on the track or any other driving event. It is RAW and thrilling also. It is the perfect compromise for me for now. The only thing I don't like is the added attention. It gets more attention than the Scud.

Drive one and see what you think. If you can get a 488 for MSRP, you will probably love it.

Drove the 12C and the 650S, love them both, looks great. But
1. Draw too much attention
2. Cannot take the boy to school
ended up with TTS, and still love it. The car open up a lot after 3k miles and a track day. Feeling a lot more "raw" and dont miss the MC too much

Well, i think he should keep the TTS and go test drive all those.

I wish I live in an area where owning such cars was a no brainier. However, Quebec in Canada, the land of snow, where the driving season is May to Sept and half of the time is rain, poor roads with potholes and severe speed regulations, you end up even feeling stupid spending this kind of money on 1 car. Owning 2 would be ridiculous. Here your 2nd and 3rd cars have to be SUV's and less exotic options.

With this being said, I hope this next purchase for me to be a car that I will keep forever and will always remain special, even in 20 years from now. I doubt that I will be able to say this about my TTS 20 years from now but I think I will about the Ferrari.

Thanks for all the replies. It helps.

if you want a unique and attention getting car, go with the Ferrari.

IMO, the 911 is the super car for those that love to drive, but like to stay under the radar.

I hardly get any second looks driving around except from people who know their cars.

I like it that way.

Well said. I agree. Only car people approach me about my 991 TTS. If I had a 458 I would be swamped at gas stations/stop lights which is something I don't want

And I am. The Porsche is being picked by the Ferrari dealership on Monday.

The wait will be long but well worth it.

Thanks for all your comments.

Yep, I'm just like you.

I don't own a Ferrari, but a TT Gallardo and yes, the G-car gets lots of attention. The P-car goes on by its business totally under the radar and I too like that.

To the OP, go for the 488...I would. I would take a 488 with: Red exterior, with two-tone red and black interior, black wheels and yellow calipers...bam!
