Tire pressure too high?
The door jam is definitely NOT your guide. I think even in the tpms menu in the car you can get the recommended pressures. The car rides horribly with the door jam pressure. At about 34/40 you are going to be in good shape.
Agree for road use 34/40 is optimal, but
on a hot day at the track the pressure quickly increases to the point that grip is materially reduced. My rear tire pressure started at 40 psi but was in the low 50's after a half dozen 1.25 mile laps on an 80 degree day according to the TPMS and my gauge. Cornering got very dicey at the higher pressure.
Nitrogen in more temperature stable
For those who track their cars or see major ambient temperature swings you may want to inflate your tires with nitrogen. Nitrogen is more thermally stable, so it will not expand/contract in response to tire temperature changes.
From my research. I found that for driving purposes. The higher psi gives you more agile handling eling and tire response for quicker turn in, which makes sense.
The lower psi range gives you a larger contact patch for less tirespin on heavy acceleration.
I know this is a pereference between a softer and firmer ride as well, so Im sure everyone has to play with pressures to their liking. Since this is a performance monster. I tend to keep my pressures up around 35f and 44r. For sure a harder ride and I believe better turn in. Its was great at lower pressure too, although it feels more reactive if that makes sence at upper pressures.

Mps
I would like to try MPS tires, but they have been out of stock for months. Also, if i need to replace a tire when on a trip it is likely that Porsche dealers will have the P Zeros in stock, but not MPS. My Pan GTS has MPS tires on for the summer and they are quiet and the grip is very good. Although the P Zeros may be a bit softer compound--and the rears have a different compound than the fronts--and may be noisier than MPS's, they work well on the track. Note that Lamborghini and McLaren mount P Zeros stock, so despite the view that they do so solely because they have some sort of deal with Pirelli, I am not convinced. Tires are the least costly major component on these cars and Porsche, Lambo and McLaren value performance, thus it seems unlikely to me that they opt for less expensive tires. I have experience on track with my TTS and the Huracan and the P Zeros work fine for HPDE purposes.
