GIAC Question and Answer Thread
65-75 horsepower at the wheels and 85-95 ft/ lbs. of torque at the wheels depending on the fuel octane and exhaust system used.
We don't have a cost for reflashing. Your VIN is registered in our system and can be reflashed as many times as need be. Dealers might charge labor, we don't control that.
I have asked this is another thread without a reply.
What is the process to retune the car due to a modification pending you had a GAIC tune and wanted to change to say non vtg turbos or wanting to run race fuel and it's not currently supported by their tune?
As I mentioned that GAIC did not provide custom tuning and was met with much resistance, there have been several people also suggesting this.
Do you in fact provide custom tuning support, if so what is that detailed process like?

Depending on the modifications made (you mentioned turbocharger changes), the car might need to come in for dyno time. We prefer significant adjustments happen with one of our tuning partners as we can spend weeks at a time if need be making adjustments, versus renting dyno time at a local dyno, which may or may not be setup well for dyno testing Turbo Porsches and hoping we can make something great in 6 dyno pulls (all 3 minutes apart). In cases like that, we want to be sure that we're extremely comfortable with the data that we're receiving. This is partly why you see a lot of new options coming from the likes of Champion Motorsport, AWE Tuning and GMG Racing. We have a well established development relationship with them and this allows the calibrations that we produce to be that much better.
Stage7, longboarder, kenromero, and a few others have custom tuning options with direct logging capability using GIAC loggers.
I don't recall speaking with yllwturbo about custom tuning his car, and certainly wouldn't have said no.

i originally got my upgrade kit from GMG (headers, exhaust, springs, and GIAC tune). i've added a plenum y pipe and fender intakes on my car so i called Allen at GMG to see if they can custom tune my car.
Allen said he called GIAC and they ARE not doing custom tune but if i want i can call them to see if they change their mind.
i called GIAC about bringing my car in for a custom tune. i remembered it was Andrew at GIAC said " they dont do custom tune because they are too busy" i'm not sure if Austin and Andrew are the same person?
ITs GOOD TO KNOW THAT AUSTIN WILL CUSTOM TUNE MY CAR. what do i need to do to set up a date for my custom tune? i should be getting my car back in about a month. THANK YOU AUSTIN

What are the differences with the turbo non s?

Also I am still waiting to see a Dyno graph of the differences between using the stage 2 pump gas or race gas tune file with a high flow catted exhaust vs a catless exhaust.
I really want to know what, if any, the power gain is between using a high flow catted exhaust and a Catless exhaust on GIAC Stage 2 and if there is an effect on heat soak when doing repeated Dyno pulls.
I was thinking the same thing and we have EP. It would be nice for someone to fabricate a testpipe for us.

I will go back through our dyno data and see what I can grab to post here for you regarding this, and the non-overboost mode graphs.
Can you PM me who you were in correspondence with? I can follow up with them and see what the hold up might be.
