GIAC Question and Answer Thread
Perhaps Tom@Champion would be able to facilitate something like that. All of the cars we have tested in-house have been catted.

Any cars local to my shop I'd be willing to test the setups on my Mustang dyno.
Hi Austin,
I've heard many times that our Engine management systems learn over time our driving habits and change to suit. I recently had the GIAC stage 2 installed, and found it to be very responsive and 'sharp' to drive.
Now, my normal driving day (yes, my car is a DD ) consists of sitting on a freeway at the set 110km/h speed limit, then turning off at my office and a quick 2min drive to my carpark. Soooo, the problem is, my car seems to lose that 'edge' that snappy responsiveness I had when the car was first flashed. I have no doubt that if I was to floor it, that the peak power would still be there, but I miss that edgeness ( if that's a word ) that the car had when first flashed.
My question is : Is this something that truly happens over time, or am I imagining things. Secondly, if it is true, can I solve my problem by.. .say once every couple of months, flashing the car back to stock, and then reflashing back the Stage 2 tune?
Your advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Scar

I appreciate the thoughts, and while I agree that it is often very easy to get used to having the power, this is more about the kickdown and snappyness of the engine.
The power is there..no doubt. But the willingness for the car to respond seems dulled. This is something that seems to happen over time with my style of driving.

This might sound insane, but is there any way to program out the overrun pops and crackles that the car has in sport and sport+ without hampering the car in any way? I know just recently tuners have figured this out for the F8x M3/M4 when they're able to bench flash a tune. I can't be the only person on earth that doesn't like the crackles on every deceleration, lol. Was watching videos of catless 997.2 turbo s' and it's essentially the same engine and it had none of that.
