LED Black Headlight Swap

Hey all,

I have a 2016 991 TTS with the LED's and i was looking to swap from the gunmetal housing to the black. I spoke with a rep at Suncoast and they advised me that i'm basically purchasing new headlight unit and that there was no way i can just order the housing. So my Q is: if i buy a set of 991 headlights on eBay, where can i go to just swap out the black inside and put it in mine? Is that something that you guys recommend or should i just purchase the headlights from sun coast and try to sell my old lights? Buying used headlights on eBay will cost about 2k instead of a 4300 new set...please advise

I have the factory black LEDs, I can tell you the difference is not significant compared to the silver. On the GT3 RS however, the black LED appears to be more "black", while on our turbo cars they still have chrome components.

If you were to swap the inside, I suggest you to find a good bodyshop and ask them to custom paint the inside. This will be a cheaper alternative and you can customize the color/details anyway you like. Just make sure they know what they are doing, the paint has to withstand heat and sealant has to be perfect or moisture will get in.

I have done this on my Maserati and it came out perfect without issues.
